G-Shock Tour
I spent a fun day painting on Saturday at the Manchester leg of the G-Shock Tour, at Projekts Skatepark. Thanks to all the little dudes who helped me paint, Secret Walls for the gig, and G-Shock for my new ludicrous gold watch!

So Northern Quarter breakfast kings and bona fide Manchester institution Koffee Pot are finally ready to open this Saturday lunchtime, after their move to from Stevenson Square to Oldham Street. The new premises look rather swish, while retaining some of the original features salvaged from the old place. They got me in to paint an updated version of their original mural, which I painted back in 2006 (some of which has been rescued, framed and hung up in the new place). My style has progressed a little in 9 years, but I tried to keep the spirit of the original (below).
There’s a nice article in the MEN, with some more pics. Top Photo credit: Andy Lambert
I was back painting murals at Marple Hall School over half-term week (having painted one in their Art Department with the help of some students, in 2012. See here). This time it was the library getting a makeover, with various literary characters adorning the huge end wall. I don’t know if it was down to the subject matter, or the fact the place was deserted and I had a cool little scaffold with a trapdoor to dance on top of like Molly Ringwald work from, but this was one of the most enjoyable murals to paint that I can remember. I just hope the students like it! Right. Enough words. PHOTO DUMP!
I spent last week painting a mural at Building Blocks, a Manchester based digital agency. They wanted a set of shelves painting in their reception, populated with various objects to reflect a few of their interests and inspirations, along with some references to clients and a couple of in-jokes.
Here’s a quick time lapse video of me painting the ThoughtWorks mural. Many thanks to Nima for putting it together.
