Twitter Sketches 1

I occasionally do the odd sketch to stick up on Twitter, either in response to a tweet or because I need a break from what I’m currently supposed to be drawing. I thought I’d gather a few of them together here for the benefit of non-Twittererers. Feast your eye-holes on Jumpy Window Guy, the Apologetic Boy, Medi-Bot 550, the Surly Kitten, Simon Cowell and the Grateful Squid.

Myia and the Robot

Happy New Year, the internet. Things have been a bit slow here, due to my being in Australia for the last few weeks, but I shall try and be extra-exciting this year to make up fot it. In the meantime, here’s a picture of my latest canvas commission, done for a nice dude to give to his lovely bike-riding lady.

And if your New Year’s resolution is to commission me to do you a nice bit of artwork, feel free to click the Contact Hammo link on the left.

Right, I’ve got some jet-lag to be getting on with…

Comic Book Carrier Bags

Worlds Apart

Nostalgia and Comics

I was commissioned recently by Kenny Penman from Forbidden Planet International to design carrier bags for their Nostalgia and Comics (Birmingham) and Worlds Apart (Liverpool) comic stores.

I tried to give them a slightly retro comic book / B-movie poster feel, with a nice robot invasion theme linking the two designs together.

Whilst trying to work out which comic to give the Nostalgia and Comics kid, I came across this ace old advert on the Forbidden Planet International blog, drawn by Dean Ormston, and thought it’d be a nice little homage!

Comic Close-up

Both stores are going with the colourways on the left, with the possibility of printing a limited number of the right hand versions.

Hopefully these will be in use in both of the shops by Christmas.
